Pilot Dashboard — Privacy Policy

    The short version: Pilot Dashboard is a local-first app. All your personal data stays on your device. We do not operate any servers, collect any analytics, or track any user behavior. Period.
  

1. Data Storage

All personal data — including your flight schedule, logbook entries, currency records, airport notes, and pilot notes — is stored exclusively in a local database on your device. No personal data is transmitted to any server operated by us.

2. iCloud Sync & Backup

If you enable iCloud sync, your logbook data is synced between your own devices via Apple's CloudKit infrastructure, using your personal iCloud account. This data is stored in your private iCloud container and is not accessible to us or any third party. Apple's iCloud privacy policy governs this data in transit and at rest.

3. Calendar Access

Pilot Dashboard requests access to your device calendar to import your flight roster. Calendar data is read locally on your device, parsed into flight records, and stored in the local database. Calendar data is never transmitted externally.

4. Network Requests

The app makes requests to the following public APIs for operational data only:

AviationWeather.gov — METAR and TAF weather reports for airports
Open-Meteo — Current weather conditions for your location
frankfurter.app — Currency exchange rates (European Central Bank data)

These requests contain only airport ICAO codes or currency codes. No personal information, device identifiers, or user data is included in any API request.

5. No Analytics or Tracking

Pilot Dashboard contains:

No analytics SDKs
No crash reporting services
No advertising frameworks
No user tracking of any kind
No telemetry

6. No User Accounts

Pilot Dashboard does not require registration, login, or any form of user account. There is no server-side user identity.

7. Secure Storage

Sensitive configuration data (such as calendar source identifiers) is stored in the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-backed encryption. The local database is protected by iOS data protection.

8. Data Export & Deletion

You can export your logbook data from within the app. To delete all data, you can use the reset function in Settings or simply uninstall the app. Since no data is stored on our servers, uninstalling the app removes all data permanently (except any iCloud backup you may have enabled).

9. Children's Privacy

Pilot Dashboard is designed for professional pilots and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL. Since we collect no data, changes are unlikely.
